104′ plus 6′ overhang on each end; 15′ width; 11.5′ height, were the original dimensions of this bridge. Because of extreme decay, when it was moved it was rebuilt at a fraction of its original length, approximately 15′.

Her Story

Not much is known of Hummel’s history. At one point it was moved to Sugar Grove City Park then to the property now known as Misty Valley Park when it was still owned by the Pierson family.

Like the Shade bridge that was on the same property, old age, strong winds, falling tree limbs, and heavy ice took a toll on this tiny structure.  In June of 2022, the bridge was dismantled and removed as salvage.
