Volunteer

donation of time is one of the best ways you can support Fairfield County Park District.  Our volunteers gain a sense of accomplishment, meet people with shared interests, and develop new skills while investing in the natural and cultural history of Fairfield County.  Bring your enthusiasm and be prepared to contribute, learn from and teach others.

Who Can Apply

There are no age limits. However, those who are not yet 16 years old must participate with a parent or guardian who is also an approved volunteer.

Types of Work

Some of the activities you can anticipate are park clean-ups, removing invasive species, planting and maintaining native gardens, conducting biotic surveys, working at special events, weekend programs, and nature or education centers, helping during Rock Mill Days tours, more.  The most important work you can do is share with others information about Fairfield County Park District whenever and wherever possible!

Work Schedules & Training

Work schedules are flexible depending on where and how you choose to volunteer.  No previous experience is needed.  What is needed is a desire to help others and a positive attitude!  Training will be provided at no cost.
