Get fresh air, some exercise, and meet new friends (or bring your own).  Walk at your own pace – forge ahead, lag behind, or stay somewhere in the middle.  Stop to enjoy the views from the one-mile-long trail.  There will be no pressure to keep up with a group – just enjoy the day!

Note:  The section of the trail leading up to Cross Mound is a bit steep.  You may want to consider using a walking stick.

Healthy snacks will be provided after the hike, but bring your own drinking water.  Be sure to read the What to Bring section, below.

Depending on weather conditions, it could be muddy and slippery.  Wear appropriate shoes or boots and outerwear.

Meet at the picnic shelter.  Please do not bring pets to this particular program.  See more about pets, below.

What to Bring
Potable water is not available at this location.  Bring your own drinking water.  Although the trail is forested, you may want to bring sunscreen and/or sun hat.  Insect repellent is highly recommended.

Pets
Well-mannered pets are welcome at Cross Mound Park. They must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 6’. For the health and safety of all, pick up and properly dispose of pets’ waste.  You may be asked not to bring pets to some organized programs.

Adverse Weather Conditions
If severe weather is forecast or before traveling a long distance to attend, it is recommended you check to be sure the program has not been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled.  It is best to check the program in the Events section of our Facebook page, our website’s Calendar of Events, or call 740 652-4422 or 614 321-4833 ext 103.
