Life in Lockville: Locktenders

Lockville Canal Park
5895 Pickerington Rd
Carroll, OH  43112

Locktenders were tied to their work, seldom if ever able to leave.  Night and day, they opened gates as needed to keep traffic moving through the locks.  They were also responsible for making minor repairs and reporting the need for major work to the State Boat.  There was so much to be done, even their wives and children worked many hours just to keep up, for no extra pay!

Three of our employees will be in character as George, Sarah, and Beth Benadum at Lockville Canal Park, 5895 Pickerington Rd, Carroll (just south of US-33).

Come to learn more about the people of Lockville!

Where to Meet
Picnic Shelter.  There are picnic tables with benches in the shelter.  If you prefer a lawn chair, bring your own.
