Her Story

The original bridge was over Ohio & Erie Canal just south of Baltimore in Basal (Basil). In 1914 it was moved to Roley Rd over Paw Paw Creek.

In 1972 she was moved to Fairfield County Fairgrounds were it graced the entry way for many years, welcoming residents and visitors. In 2016 a strong storm knocked her down. She was disassembled, tagged and placed into dry storage.

Fairfield County Park District was given ownership of her by Fairfield County Agriculture Society with the understanding she would be rebuilt and again for public enjoyment. The cost of restoration is expected to be well over $ 100,000.00. If anyone would like to contribute to the rebuilding of Roley School Bridge, please contact us.
