ExploreFCPD GeoTrail 2023

We’ve created 15 caches for you, each with a short story about its location and a code word inside. If you find them all, use the code words to complete the ExploreFCPD GeoTrail 2023 Puzzle (printable PDF) and get coordinates for a bonus cache with neat prizes inside!

Come Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. to ExploreFCPD GeoTrail 2023 Kick-Off at Smeck Park, 7395 Basil Rd, Baltimore.

Any team or individual who finds 12 of the 15 caches will receive a special commemorative wooden coin.  Submit your completed geotrail page/puzzle with at least 12 code words to explore@fairfieldcountyparks.org.  The puzzle entries will be checked against the cache logs on geocaching.com.

ExploreFCPD GeoTrail 2023 will be in place from April 23 through September 24, 2023Extended through September 30, 2023!

If you have already completed the course but haven’t picked up the commemorative coin at Fairfield County Park District’s main office at 9270 Pickerington Rd in Pickerington, Ohio.  Questions?  See contact names, below.

Geocaching is a type of treasure hunt – looking for caches (hidden stashes) using GPS to find them.

After registering online, geocachers look for coordinates (longitude and latitude) of caches. Each cache has a logbook the finder should sign and is filled with low-cost trinkets such as keychains, ornaments, booklets, small toys, more. Traditionally, when you find a cache, you take an item, leave an item. Find more info and rules at geocaching.com.

Geocaching is a way to learn about the environment and help clean it up! “Cache In, Trash Out” is a common activity. If you appreciate the parks and happen to see trash when you are participating in this search, please be so kind as to take it with you!

If you do not already have a geocaching account,
